REST API for AMQP management?

Does anybody out there have any experience or ideas about this? Has
anyone already defined a REST API corresponding to the AMQP management
spec? Anybody got experience with implementing such an API?

I am working on improving the AMQP 1.0 management support for the
dispatch router (implemented in python) and it seems like it would be
pretty easy to stick a little python REST API layer in there.

Let me know if you have any insights or are interested in contributing
to this.
