ActiveMQ 5.10.0 - mbean attributes

I am using ActiveMQ-5.10.0 running in karaf as part of Servicemix-5.1.1. Some of my ActiveMQ queues are not displaying any attributes or operations as if the underlying mbean doesn't exist. The issue was described very well here:

I'd like to understand why this happens and if there are any possibly solutions.
